Interested in learning more about the health benefits of alpaca meat? 

Want some pointers on how to cook it, and have the chance to try some tasty holiday appetizers made with alpaca meat?  What kinds of alpaca meat products can you buy at the ranch to make your own healthy holiday meals?  Ground meat, ground sausage (breakfast, mild Italian, chorizo), backstrap, tenderloin, roasts, tri-tip, round steak, pepperoni and more.  Register early on our website… $20 per person...Class size is limited!  Purchase alpaca meat while at the ranch on December 14th, and

get a $10 credit toward your purchase for attending class.

Alpaca Holiday Parade 1:00-2:30 p.m.

Come take part in our version of a holiday parade.  Our alpacas will be sporting in their holiday best and we’ll take a trek around the ranch to celebrate.  Want a photo to remember your alpaca pal by?  Bring your phone or camera and take selfies!   Then visit our babies in the manger of our alpaca nursery…too cute!

 
Alpaca Story Time 2:45-4:00 p.m.

Ann Rivera, author of the soon-to-be-published “Baby Alpaca’s Adventure" (conceived and written while visiting our pastures) will be reading from the book.  We are thrilled that the book has been interpreted in Spanish too, by Rocio Herman (a resident of Bend), who will also be reading the Spanish version of the book.  Love the story?  You can pre-order a copy of the book (tentatively due out in January, 2020) and pick up a knitted alpaca tree ornament or alpaca plush toy, for stocking stuffer gifts, in our Magical Strands Boutique.

Hot cocoa/cider and alpaca-shaped-cookies too!

Throughout the Day

During the day, visitors may have a treat viewing the unveiling of a large alpaca mural in our conference room, created by Michelle Oberg from Redmond. 

​

Local spinners will demonstrate the art of spinning our alpaca fiber into yarn. 

​

There will be tours of our nursery where folks can see the youngest 20 baby alpacas with their mothers, learn alpaca facts, take a walk around the ranch and see our large herd of alpacas and maybe even get an alpaca nose kiss from our ranch greeter, Classy the alpaca!
